Virtual Lactation Consultation

Service Description

A virtual lactation consultation is great if you are an experienced breastfeeding mom and need help fine tuning your breastfeeding relationship. Also helpful if your baby is older and you are struggling with poor sleep/distracted feeding/painful latch, slow weight gain, or any other concerns. A virtual consultation may not be appropriate for a newborn baby who is not latching or you are unsure of milk transfer during feeding. Home lactation consultations are available for newborns and mothers who need hands-on assistance. Please do not hesitate to call me at (404)449-5595 if you are unsure if a virtual consultation would be appropriate for your situation. Virtual Consultations include: * a breastfeeding history/health history of you and your baby * correct positioning * how to evaluate milk transfer * how to recognize feeding cues, hunger v. contentment after a feeding * normal weight gain/volumes your baby should be eating * anticipatory education/milestones/growth and development * a customized home feeding plan will be emailed to you based on our consultation * self care for mom and what is normal
